responsible for rigging, idea & story development



The video shows the rig of the squid for the short Deep Dance.
Procedural and dynamic animation for the fins and tentacles – the result is plotted and copied to the Control Objects – the FCurves are simplfied – the animator can continue working on the animation like if he had done the animation by hand (just Keyframe-Animation after plotting).



Modeling by Fabian Fricke. The rig was developed by Christoph Westphal.
I added some small features, created the Control Objects and the Synoptic (Interface).
For all dynamics mt_spring by Helge Mathee was used. Just like the squid rig the results of procedural animation and simulation can be copied to the Control Objects – the FCurves are simplfied – the animator can continue working on the animation like if he had done the animation by hand (just Keyframe-Animation after plotting).
